Inspired by the Kino motto:
"Do well with nothing, do better with little and do it now!"
Kino05 has decided to do better for videomakers--and to do it right now, by relaunching the Toronto cell of the international Kino movement.
Anyone, no matter their experience level, can submit work to our screenings. We're interested in seeing finished pieces, strange and sublime experiments, accidents and works-in-progress. Bring a DVD of your work to any of our screeings to participate in Kino05. See "Submission Guidelines" for more info.
Originating in Montreal, PQ, the International Kino Movement is founded on the belief that anyone and everyone should get out and make film and video, and that anyone and everyone should be able to screen those films and videos in a public forum.
The Kino movement is interested in creating a community of film and video makers outside of the traditional modes of production and exhibition and in connecting creators directly with the public. As part of this mandate, each Kino05 screening is an open screening; the principal members of Kino05 do not pre-screen or censor any work--so, you really never know what you're going to see at one of our events.

"WINTER KEEP US WARM"
Wherein thieves and cooks speak of quail sizzling in sour cream,
wherein palatial edifices are used as lavatories for detainees,
wherein confessions of the heart and tales of distraction mingle
echoes in the hero’s ear, wherein judgments come to pass, wherein
eternal boatmen navigate the waters of the Styx.
